About Me

Hi. My name is James Newton-King, I'm 25 and I live in Wellington, New Zealand.

By day I'm a software developer and work for an IT services company called Intergen. By night I fight the criminal underworld in the guise of a bat. And write fictitious internet biographies.

Interests

My main passion is software development, something that I discovered while at university. I love the process of creating genuinely useful applications and as well as the constant innovation and improvement in programming languages and tools. I like to keep up to date with new developments and am always interested in learning new and better ways of doing things.

I really enjoyed studying economics at collage and I went on to study commerce at university. Micro-economics and the psychology of money; and macro-economics and monetary policy's affect on an economy are subjects that still fascinate me.

Open content and the free exchange of information is something I am interested in. I think the world would be a significantly better place if only we all spent a little more time learning about our place in it. The next time Wikipedia asks for donations, considering giving something back. Information may be free but bandwidth and web servers are not :)

Education

I attended Victoria University in 2001-2003, completing a Bachelor of Commerce double majoring in Information Systems and E-commerce.

Currently a student of life.
